Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor who reigned from 161 to 180 AD. He is best known for his philosophical work "Meditations," a series of personal writings that reflect his Stoic beliefs and offer insights into his thoughts on life, leadership, and duty. As a Stoic philosopher, Marcus Aurelius emphasized the importance of reason, self-control, and virtuous living.
